A dentist by profession and a passionate henna artist. Her love for henna is an extension of her love for art. She founded and heads ‘Healing Henna', a Lean-In circle, which is a peer support group for women henna artists and enthusiasts, based in Kuwait. The group advocates the use of 100% natural henna for body art. “Henna has always been a part of my life. As a little girl, I remember looking at this curious green paste, the 'mylanji'. My mum and aunts would use freshly, ground
henna leaves to create all these bold and simple designs, usually using humble tools like the 'eerkkli' (midrib of a coconut leaf). The smell of henna would often be accompanied by the aroma of lavish meals and fresh flowers. It meant celebration! Of abundance and joy and sharing. I was drawn in..It soon became a serious hobby and now, a parallel career. As a medium, there's so much to explore and express in it. My learning still continues, as well as my love for it”.
